This charming 3 bedroom 3 bath 1,700 square foot mountain home is in the small town of Quintette (population 20) 11 miles East of Georgetown on the way to the Rubicon Trail (the Rubicon is about 27 miles from the house - nobody lives closer!) at the very end of the power grid and civilization in the heart of the Eldorado National Forest. In the winter there is snow wheelin/sledding/cross country skiiing/snow mobiling right out the front door - the county stops plowing just past Quintette so it's a full Winter Wonderland from the house to Uncle Tom's Cabin and beyond if you dare. If you're not the adventurous sort you can enjoy a warm drink on the deck and enjoy the propane powered fireplace.
In the summer it's also an unbelievable destination. Perfect weather (mid 80's) at 4,000 foot elevation escapes the valley heat and allows perfect evenings to sit out on the deck and count the stars you never knew were there. There's no better place to stay before heading up to the Rubicon, or one of the many lakes in the area (Union Valley, Stumpy Meadows, Loon Lake, etc) world class dirt bike trails literally 1/2 mile from the doorstep (Rock Creek trail system), unbelievable hiking 1/4 mile away (University Falls), and some of the best equestrian trails a few miles away. Also an AWESOME spot to base camp for hunting.
